The Goethegymnasium Weißenfels is a general grammar school in Weißenfels, Saxony-Anhalt. Its history goes back to the 17th century, when Duke August von Sachsen-Weißenfels founded the Gymnasium illustre Augusteum.

The castle-like building of the Goethe Gymnasium from 1912-1914 is located in a place that has always been a location for educational institutions over the centuries. Next door, parts of the former Clarissen monastery are still preserved, the building stock of which formed the basis for the Gymnasium illustre Augusteum after the Reformation and was used for administrative purposes in 1664. Duke August von Sachsen-Weißenfels, the founder of this short-lived Saxon branch line, set up a higher educational institution in his (future) residential city. Today's school building from the 20th century is particularly impressive due to the high dome structure. Inside there are numerous Art Nouveau decorations, the auditorium has a stucco ceiling. In the auditorium there is also a small organ from the workshop of the Weißenfels organ builder Friedrich Ladegast, who also built the organ of the Evangelical Church of St. Marien.
