Pöggstall is always worth a visit - especially in beautiful autumn sunshine: pleasantly warm, but not stressful hot. The renovation of the palace was an excellent success, the exhibition was a success - what more could you want?

The massive building, located in the center of the market town of Pöggstall, dates back to the 13th century. It was expanded under Kaspar von Rogendorf at the end of the 15th century.
The castle belonged to the powerful Maissauers for a long time. From 1795 to 1919 it was owned by the family fund, which had been set up to provide the family members of Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Joseph II with part of the assets of Emperor Franz I.

Wasserburg, which was built in the 13th century. Very nice facility, which was last restored in 2017. Everything is well preserved. There is a lot to discover here and there are always events.
