Ziegenwerder is a 14-hectare river island between the Alter Oder and Oder, which has been designed as a park. There is a circular path on the island, the Hanseatic lines are depicted, there is a playground, a nature trail and more. The island can be reached via two bridges, one at the south end at the Stadion der Freundschaft and the north bridge is at the Gräfin-Dönhoff building.

The island of Ziegenwerder is located between the Alter and Neuer Oder in Frankfurt (Oder). The island owes its name to the Oder fish goats, which received their feed from here. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the people of Frankfurt spent their free time in the bathing establishments on the river, the last remnants of which had to give way in 2003 in the course of the redesign to today's Europagarten. The lower-lying eastern part of the island with its old giant trees, which is often flooded in spring and autumn, was largely left in its original state. The western part has been transformed into a park with a promenade, extensive flower borders, narrow watercourses symbolically modeled on the Oder "Hanseatic Lines", a hedge theater with restaurants, a panoramic cinema and a large adventure playground.
