Mount Nebo (Hebrew: הַר נְבוֹ Har Nəvō, Arabic: جبل نيبو, Jabal Nībū) in the Abǎrim Mountains is located in Jordan. It is an offshoot of the plateau that slopes down to the Dead Sea. Mount Nebo, with a height of 808 meters, offers a view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Israel.

The 'Diakonikon Baptistery' was a sacristy on the south side of a burial chapel on Mount Nebo. Access from the chapel was via a staircase, as the sacristy was one meter lower. Around 530 AD the 'Memorial Church of Moses' was expanded into a basilica.
End of the 6th or beginning of the 7th century. The sacristy and the burial chapel were demolished, the floor was raised and the mosaics were buried. Today the remains of mosaic floors from different eras are uncovered.
