When climbing over Kölfels (over 1,000 meters in elevation), you should start early or choose a cloudy day. The sun warms the slope in the morning, and the climb is steep and steady. Sturdy shoes, surefootedness, and a good level of fitness are required. The gap leading into the Fundustal valley requires a bit of climbing.

The Hintere Fundusalm is idyllically situated at an altitude of 1,964 meters at the foot of the Fundusfeiler mountain. Typical Tyrolean and Ötztal dishes are served. Ten overnight beds are available.
