Although you are not allowed to cycle freely in the municipal forests near Ermelo, the Arnhemse Karweg and this Champignonlaan are wonderful exceptions as unpaved highways. They are therefore perfect wide forest roads for the gravel cyclist, although you do have to take cars into account in the forest.

Dirt road connecting to a recreation area in the forest near Ermelo. Please note, there are also cars and weekends can be busy with recreationists. But it is worth it to cycle unpaved underneath Ermelo.
