A small Hamburg pearl is the former harbor police station 2 on the Kehrwiederspitze in the Speicherstadt, which is now the headquarters of the water police district 22.
There are all sorts of stories about seafaring, farewell and homecoming around the Kehrwiederspitze at the westernmost tip of the Speicherstadt, but it owes its name to a much more everyday circumstance.
Kehrwieder Street was originally a dead end because there was no way to cross the inland harbor at its western end. The Niederbaum Bridge was built later.
Anyone who went on the Kehrwieder towards the Kehrwiederspitze had to return - come back.
In fact, only the small peninsula at the entrance to the Kehrwiederfleet, on which the old harbor police station 2 stands, is called Kehrwiederspitze.
Hafenpolzeiwache 2 became known through the ZDF television series Notruf Hafenkante.
