The Canal Saint-Martin is a shipping canal in the east of Paris. Opened in 1825, it connects the Bassin de la Villette with the Seine at the Port de l'Arsenal in a north-south direction and runs in a tunnel over almost half of its more than 4.5 kilometers in length. The Canal Saint-Martin is one of the highlights of my visits to Paris. I discovered him when I was studying in Paris in 1978/1979 and living in the 13th arrondissement. You can take beautiful photos of the locks and the surrounding area there.
