    A must for every outdoor fan, after all, it is the highest elevation in the Upper Franconia region.
    Beautiful climbs especially on Seehaus and Nußhardt, although the most exhausting, it is worthwhile especially with a trip to Nußhardt itself and a stop at the lake house on `cappucci cheesecake or a hearty snack;)

      On the Schneeberg at 1000 Meterstein, the highest elevation in Upper Franconia, up to the summit at 1051 m above sea level.
      The climb is always worth it;
      a) because the highest mountain in the region
      b) many paths and from all sides lead to the summit
      c) very nice with fully or enduro over the Nußardt, up and down
      d) with hard part more suitable over Hagerstein but also possible over Nußhardt with carrying units
      e) an experience, the Backöfela with viewing platform, very beautiful

            For me it was the first visit to the Schneeberg and that by bike. The "main routes" are easy to drive for everyone, but there are also some very nice trails. I personally need a little bike practice 🙈

              The Backöfele at 1051 meters is a former watchtower on the Schneeberg. It was originally built as part of a late medieval defense system in the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Kulmbach.
              The tower was restored as a wooden viewing platform by the Alpine Club at the end of the 19th century and renovated more recently. Today the wooden tower measures 14m high.

                  At 1,051 metres, the Schneeberg is the highest point in the Fichtel Mountains. It used to be home to barracks and is now a nature reserve. From the Backöfele lookout point, you have a fantastic panoramic view!
