The care of the individual beds is taken over by sponsors. They are bordered with dry stone walls made of Palatinate sandstone. "The Freinsheim apothecary's garden was made possible by the Freinsheim pharmacist Getraude Mocker, whose grandparents had already planted an apothecary's garden on today's land in the past. The garden was later leased. Shortly before her death, Ms. Mocker donated the property to the city of Freinsheim however, that a pharmacist's garden open to the public should be created here again." In the back part of the garden there are two sculptures by the sculptor Mathias Nikolaus (DÜW) from Greek mythology: the staff of Asculapius (= symbol of medicine and healing arts) and the representation of a woman (= Hygieia/Hygeia, the Greek patron saint of pharmacists) .
