Delimiting the Spain-France border, this pass is an ideal place to take a break and enjoy the wonderful landscape of the Selva de Irati. A few meters from here there is a water source and some small buildings that can serve as shelter if you need it.

This pass is on the border between Spain and France, at an altitude of 1,337 metres. It forms part of the Camino de Santiago and has been the protagonist of numerous legends, among which are the passage through here of the armies of the Emperor Charlemagne and Napoleon.

Wide flat grassy pass with nice views of the surrounding hills. Quite busy during the day due to the Way of St. James that runs here. In the evening it gets quiet.
Ideal as a bivouac site, since the water source (Rolandquelle) is in the immediate vicinity. Thanks to the emergency column at the Roland spring, there is even WiFi here in the tent. Crazy :D
