Along with the Adenauer and Decksteiner Weiher, it is one of three artificially created lakes in the Outer Green Belt. White mute swans, coots and cormorants have their sleeping and nesting places around the water. However, birds that sit and breed on the small island in the pond must not be disturbed because the pond is located in a landscape conservation area (L 11 "Outer Green Belt Müngersdorf to Marienburg and connecting green areas").
