Sint-Pietersplein is the city's events square, located in the student district and near the Ghent University Library, better known as the Book Tower. On the square you will find the Sint-Pieters Abbey, the Sint-Pieters Church and the nature museum De Wereld van Kina: het huis.
Every year the Halfvastenfoor takes place here, but events and concerts are also regularly held on the large square. Since 2007 you can park your car in the underground car park. During its construction, a large number of important archaeological finds were made that are now symbolically indicated with narrow metal lines.

The Saint Peter Abbey (ndl. Sint-Pietersabdij) is a former Benedictine abbey in Ghent, the capital of the province of East Flanders. The monastery is located on an old Scheldearm on the Blandinberg (ndl .: Blandijnberg), a hill, which is 28 m the highest point of Ghent.
