My favorite park in Zurich!
Lots of green, lots of peace and quiet, beautiful nature, old trees and magnolias, the ideal place to go for a walk, relax in the meadow, have a picnic or read a book.
Away from the city center, but not too far away, is Zurich's largest and most impressive landscape garden near Lake Zurich.
The park and the associated villa (now the Rietberg Museum) was built in 1855, was taken over by the Rieter family of industrialists in Winterthur at the end of the 19th century and became the property of the city in 1945.
Some beeches in the park are still from the original stock, so they are over 150 years old.
When the weather is clear, the optical end point is the Glarus Alps, which gives the impression of almost endless expanse.

Very nicely laid out and with many good benches that invite you to rest under the large trees. Culture lovers are well looked after in the museum, there are constantly changing exhibitions.
