This trail is a hiking trail and cycling is prohibited. At 739 km², the Karwendel Nature Park is the largest protected area in Tyrol and the largest nature park in Austria. The Karwendel has an above-average proportion of natural habitats such as primeval forests and wild rivers and is home to an exceptionally high level of biodiversity. A very special area!
This nature reserve is not just about nature. No! Everyone should be able to switch off from everyday life here, enjoy beautiful moments or do sports... But it's about a harmonious coexistence of people and nature and the observance of a few rules in order to be able to continue to preserve the uniqueness of this landscape. It is important to us that everyone who spends their time here also takes on a little responsibility for this area.
We would therefore like to point out that cycling on forest roads and most alpine paths is prohibited throughout Austria and is only permitted on approved routes. These can be found here:

We ask all visitors to take a little personal responsibility for our nature and leave their mountain bikes on this trail.
