The Orangery Meuselwitz is the last surviving part of the former palace complex. The orangery in the castle park was built between 1724 and 1727. It served as a model for Sanssouci Palace, built in 1745.

It is the last remnant of the former palace complex (from where the Seckendorff family helped shape the fortunes of the town of Meuselwitz for over 300 years). It was built between 1724 and 1727 as part of the expansion of the Seckendorff Palace, based on designs by the Electorate of Saxony's state architect David Schatz, presumably by the town architect Georg Hellbrunn. It is said that the late baroque building served as a model for the Sanssouci Palace, built in 1745. After several restoration phases, the building seemed to have fallen into disrepair in the 1980s. Between 1991 and 1998, after emergency securing, a comprehensive renovation of the entire building was carried out. Since the summer of 1998, the Orangery has been open to visitors with an attractive cafe/restaurant and a ballroom for cultural, literary and other events.

The castle was built under the Lords of Meuselwitz and was first mentioned in the 12th century. On February 20, 1945, Meuselwitz Castle was damaged in World War II and demolished in 1947. The orangery was rebuilt between 1955 and 1962. A very beautiful palace park has also been preserved.
