You can experience the former living and working worlds of the Grönegau in the historic half-timbered ensemble in the middle of the picturesque Meller Grönenberg Park. Here the Grönegau Museum Melle presents everyday village life and traditional handicrafts in the bakehouse, coop, granary and coach house: the impressive Boke mill for processing flax and fully equipped shoemaker, carpenter and blacksmith workshops bear witness to rural and handicraft traditions. The light is still on in the authentic, rustic oak kitchen – the family seems to have just left the room.

Clothes make the man – the rich collection of historical costume bonnets shows how people dressed appropriately for everyday and festive occasions.
