The Marken Lighthouse, also known as the Horse of Marken, is one of the most iconic lighthouses in the Netherlands. Since 1839 it has stood in this form at the very tip of the peninsula. The lighthouse is not open to visitors.

The lighthouse is still scaffolded. It can also only be viewed from a distance as it is privately owned. The owner clearly points out the private property with a large gate and several prohibition and information signs.
Nevertheless, it is a beautiful spot, a great lighthouse and the beach in front of it is just great.
Seating and a rest area are available.
Great for taking a break and refreshing yourself.
