The idyllic Widdumer Weiher in the municipality Waltenhofen is a gem for all nature lovers.

Idyllically embedded in the FFH and nature reserve is the 7-acre pond in the district Martinszell. Many birds find here ideal conditions for their breeding sites. Here are swan families permanent guests and in the twilight one can observe buzzing bats. A special sight is the annually recurring water lilies bloom.

In the nearby Fischerhütte there are regular fish festivals with delicious fish dishes from May to October (further information at fischerhuette-widdum.de).

For hikes around the pond is a beautifully landscaped trail.

Also in winter very nice to explore.
