The PORTIERS HOUSE of the Henkenshage Castle, also protected, from 1909 in Dutch Neo-Renaissance style, is located just outside the center of Sint-Oedenrode and near the castle. Although the visual relationship between the two has been disrupted by new buildings, the functional relationship between the house and the castle can still be seen in the design and location.

The porter's house is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as a representative of a building for the social elite shortly after 1900. It has architectural-historical value as a rich example of the Dutch Neo-Renaissance style. It has architectural historical value because of the materials used, in particular the cement layers and corner blocks. It has ensemble value because of its functional relationship with Henkenshage Castle. The object has been preserved intact and is rare as a porter's house.

This house actually belongs to the castle located further away. It's the porter's house. The castle avenue is a dead straight road lined with trees. When you think away all the buildings and school around it. Can you imagine what it used to look like.

Sint Oedenrode is in any case a nice village to walk through. This cottage is opposite Ahrend's office and is close to the beautiful castle of Sint Oedenrode
