If you have done a walk along the Dommel and you come near Liempde, you can easily walk onto the pull ferry, provided it is not on the other side.

A super fun place to cross the Dommel during your walk. I was lucky and the ferry was on my side of the Dommel. With a bit of bad luck you have to pull the ferry to your side first and then you can cross. Good for the muscles.

By the way, I was walking alone and it was easy to pull myself to the other side with the ferry.

Nice route in terms of surroundings. At the dovecote there are 2 benches next to a field with chickens where we had a picnic. My girlfriend and I did half of the route: we started late and with her baby and buggy (with big wheels) - which was just possible in July '24 at the ferry (very wet and narrow and sandy path with many high nettles). First pulled the ferry to our side. The crossing was much lighter and easier.
The road of the last half was busy with fast-moving cars. You can walk next to the road but that was either very wet due to the recent amount of rain or with very bumpy stones. So the buggy drove over the asphalt. And I waved to the cars to slow down a bit... Otherwise certainly a nice route, very nice surroundings and good length to chat for a morning:)
