The Ferchweiler Plateau offers an impressive sandstone rock erosion landscape with the well-known Teufelsschlucht, but also numerous other gorges and chasms towards the Prümtal.

Very well-known corner in the southern Eifel and fairly well "developed". There are three "Devil's Circular Trails" of varying lengths that lead through the Devil's Gorge. The area is usually reached from Irrel (at the waterfalls or rapids) or from Ernzen (edge of the forest, Dino Park, visitor center).
Update end of 2022: The hiking bridge at the former waterfalls has not yet been replaced after the flood in 2021.

Update 2024: There is now a suspension bridge worth seeing. Hiking car park at the exit of Irrel towards Prümzurlay.

This gorge is actually something of the "classic" in this area. Hiked through it so many times. Always interesting! Already quite well developed for tourism with a visitor center and dinosaur park nearby. The last time I was there during the week was in mixed April weather and had everything to myself. Nearly. I met a family on the way.

Man is better in the morning then there is not so much going on. Don't always just quickly follow the path. Just look left and right and go too. Above the Teufelsschlucht there is a small valley where you can easily walk through. From there you can look into the gorge. Dor there is a rock that looks like a muffle.

Not only the Teufelsschlucht itself, but the whole area around it with the many rocks is great for hiking. There are several circular routes that lead through the Teufelsschlucht, all of which are actually recommended.

A really great gorge with impressive rock formations. There is so much to discover, it is of course very popular with tourists and of course a hiking highlight when you are here. Several shorter and longer "Devil's Trails" lead through the region and the "Devil's Eight" is probably the most common and best known route that connects the Devil's Gorge. A really great circuit.
