Since my knee resented the sandy passages of the last few days, I didn't hike to Odeceixe as planned today. Instead, I dedicated myself to the fauna around Zambujeira. Many plants on the Costa Vicentina are endemic, i.e. they only grow there.

The first storks have already nested at Cabo Sardão, almost close enough to touch. These views accompanied me the entire way today. Likewise the wonderful scent of rockroses, which grow in large numbers along the entire section of the stage. The last stretch to Zambujeira stretches a bit along the road

Beautiful stage! Storks can often be seen nesting on the rocks along the coast. The sand turns from light yellow to dark orange. Beautiful play of colors! At the end of the tour there was a heavy thunderstorm with hail and heavy rain. I was happy when I reached Cavaleiro and a nice Portuguese woman stopped

I saved myself the approx. 5 km passage at the beginning, as this only runs along the main road. Instead, used the crossing of the Mira River by boat.

First warm-up from Vila Nova de Milfontes towards Porto Covo. Beautiful rocky coast, many sandy paths, so it's not quite easy to walk in the heat ;)

After a long time, I walked the end of the world path again today. Always beautiful!

Last day and sunshine in the Pas de Calais. Before that I had already visited the 2 Caps and done a little hike. However, since the two Caps were covered in heavy fog that day, I drove to the Caps again in glorious sunshine.

Below the coast you can, with a bit of luck, find ammonites, observe fulmars

A short hike but beautiful! In Ambleteuse I first took a break for lunch and sat for a long time in a small bay north of Ambleteuse and was able to observe various birds such as seagulls, cormorants or knots. In the distance you can see numerous cargo and container ships heading north. The bay is not busy and just beautiful! :)

Originally glorious sunshine was predicted and I wanted to hike from Cap Gris Nez to Cap Blanc Nez. Unfortunately, thick clouds came up and the two caps were enveloped in dense fog. An icy wind was blowing, which is why I only did the Belverde circuit.

Strengthened we went back to Ambleteuse. The path through the dunes runs almost exclusively through soft sand, not exactly easy, but just as beautiful as the coastal path.

Beautiful coastal walk from Ambleteuse to Wimereux. I didn't record the start here because I tried for about 1 hour to get around the fort along the beach despite the rising tide. In the end I gave up, otherwise I would have gotten my feet wet and then I walked around the outside of the bridge :D

Around the Reindersmeer and Eendenmeer, river dunes alternate with heather areas and deciduous and pine forests.

It is wonderfully quiet in the Meuse dunes and heather areas. You only hear the birds chirping and your own steps.
