The green cemetery in the east of Hamburg is open to all nations and religions. At 98.7 hectares, it is the second largest park cemetery in the Hanseatic city. The Schleemer Bachtal with its bird sanctuary lies idyllically to the east of the cemetery.

The population likes to visit the cemetery for quiet relaxation.

For the purpose of visiting the cemetery, you can drive to the cemetery in your own car. You can reach every celebration room and every cemetery garden center by car. There are also parking spaces.

Dogs are unfortunately not allowed in the cemetery, the only exception being guide dogs for the blind.

On the website of the cemetery (friedhof-hamburg.de/die-friedhoefe/oejendorf/sonderanlagen/) one can read:

Ten boulders, which are in easy-to-read characters, e.g. the term "father" and "mother", "daughter" and "son", "friend" and "girlfriend" wear. The stones symbolize the network of relationships in which the deceased relatives lived. The grave fields become a commemorative path.

Such tombstones are not often seen. I do not seem to have discovered everyone.
