"The long Iland, the short Iland and the Hainesch" - Anyone who suspects a Low German peasant play based on the language here is not so badly advised. It is a play without words - or rather the backdrop to a farmer's fairy tale, which is given on the busy Bergstedter Chaussee, embedded in the living quarters of his auditorium. The Ilands and the Hainesch are the main stage of an old rural cultural landscape, the origin of which goes back to the Bronze Age and which is now preserved as the Hainesch-Iland nature reserve.
Rightly so, because if you follow the Furtstieg, for example, from the Bergstedter Markt square in the center of the old farming village, you will reach a charming area with pastures, meadows and fields, with orchards and the wooded, steeply-sloping Saselbek valley, a tributary of the Alster.
