The Rödlaser mountain hut is located about 200 m uphill from the village of Rödlas. There is a large parking lot directly at the hut, which is mainly used by hikers. Numerous hiking trails start from here, such as the "Geological Expedition" circular route. It is about 300 m to the observation tower, and from the "hut" you can enjoy the wonderful view while eating or drinking coffee.

Info point with hiking map and display board 1 for the circular hiking trail "Expedition Earth History". The region between Massenricht and Freihung is in the Upper Palatinate Bruchschollenland, which is criss-crossed by numerous geological faults and characterized by geological diversity. The nature trail in Massenricht starts at the parking lot at the Rödlaser mountain hut and runs over a length of 4.5 km. It was developed and installed in 2014 and 2015 as part of the "Geological Expedition - Upper Palatinate and Western Bohemia" project.
