The Gelber Punkt hiking trail leads along the route of the Freital-Potschappel-Nossen narrow-gauge railway.
"The line opened in 1886/99 was one of the more heavily frequented narrow-gauge railways and was closed in 1972." de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slimspurbahn_Freital-Potschappel%E2%80%93Nossen

At the level of Zauckerode, the loading building and a notice board have been preserved.
The branch to the Oppelschacht can still be clearly seen.

Today the path is a slowly rising asphalt stretch lined with parks, the river valley of the Wiederitz, alternated with small residential areas.

Although the route itself is a very good connection between Freital and the rest of the way to Wilsdruff, the traffic management in the upper section is in great need of improvement. At every small street and driveway, pedestrians and cyclists have to give the cars right of way, which requires constant braking, as the streets are often difficult to see.

Section Freital-Potschappel - Wurgwitz. Along the Edgar Rudolph Trail, and partly also the Way of St. James. Former narrow-gauge railway, now a hiking and cycling trail, partly along the Wiederitz River.

Info:

Today, most of the former route is reused as a cycling or hiking path. The entire sections from Nossen to Wilsdruff and from Kesselsdorf to Freital-Potschappel are accessible by bicycle. Some sections, like a large portion of the former bus shelters, have been completely demolished and returned to agricultural use.
