Kollmitzberg is located in the market town of Ardagger on Moststrasse and is considered - despite the manageable altitude of 469 m - to be one of the most beautiful viewing points far and wide.

Pilgrims, hikers, cyclists and nature lovers enjoy an almost unobstructed view in all directions here - from Schneeberg to Traunstein and across the Danube country all the way into the Bohemian massif. When the Mostviertler pear tree blossoms in spring, a cycling trip on the Kollmitzberg cycle route is particularly recommended.

The pilgrimage church of St. Ottilie on Kollmitzberg, which can be seen from afar, was first mentioned in 1260 and has been a popular pilgrimage site since the Middle Ages. The “Ottilienwasser”, which rises not far from the church, has always been said to have healing properties.

The Kollmitzberg is best known beyond the country's borders for its annual Kirtag. With around 300 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors, the Kollmitzberger Kirtag is one of the largest events of its kind in all of Austria.
