The home of the overseas club could not be more beautiful. The Amsinck house was built at Neuen Jungfernstieg No. 19 from 1831 in a two-year construction period. Client: Gottlieb Jenisch, member of one of the large, well-known Hamburg merchant families of the 19th century. It was architecturally planned and completed by the young Altona architect Franz-Gustav Forsmann.
The former residential and commercial building in Hamburg's best location still commemorates its first owner in its 'Jenisch room'.
In 1969, the Übersee-Club rented the house. Thanks to generous donations from its members, the Amsinck House, which has been a listed building since 1944, with its spacious hall and historic rooms, was then completely renovated.
The rooms of the Amsinck House - impressive: The large ballroom with opulent ornamentation and carved door crowns shows many elements of the builder's time.
Two Alster rooms with a view of the Inner Alster, the Red Salon and the Empire-style Jenisch room are now used as stylish restaurant rooms.

The Übersee-Club is an association for promoting the exchange of business and science, which was founded in 1922 to "promote Hamburg's position in the world".
The Amsinck-Haus on Neuer Jungfernstieg has been the home of the Übersee Club since 1970; it took two years to build from 1831 and was built by the Hamburg businessman Gottlieb Jenisch.

The Übersee-Club in Hamburg is an association for promoting the exchange of business and science. The association was founded in 1922 on the initiative of the banker Max Warburg. It was dissolved in 1934 and re-established in 1948. The club has resided since 1969 at Neuer Jungfernstieg 19 on the Binnenalster in the listed Amsinck Palais. Today the club is regarded as an influential forum for economic and political issues and as an exclusive gentlemen's club.
