    An enticingly angled prow of rock that juts out dramatically above the Ogwen Valley. Go on, crawl along it, pose for the cameras! But do take care...

    This is an Instagrammer's dream. The throne-like form of Y Garn forming the backdrop is gorgeous. It's no wonder the Cannon is the subject of countless snaps.

      We did the tour today with our 3 boys (8/10/12) in appr. 5 hours - cool thing!
      For the descent we went down the south rim and turned left to go down the shorter way east of the summit.

        The iconic cannon stone of Tryfan. Stand on it for that classic photo of the Ogwen Valley in the background just before you continue up one of the UK's best ridge scrambling routes that is the North Ridge of Tryfan :-).

              The key sections of the route are the Cannon Stone (SH665598) which marks the start of the ridge proper and a classic photo opportunity, the Notch which is a slight down climb into a gap, the North Tower which can be taken head on for a higher grade of scramble, and the stone jump between Adam and Eve.

                  Cannon Stone
                  The aptly-named Cannon Stone marks the start of the true scramble up Tryfan. Jutting away from the mountain at a pronounced angle, it’s a favourite place for visitors to climb on top and snap pictures before tackling the toughest part of the route.
