The Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde with whitewashed facades, tranquil monastery garden and the beguinage museum, was founded in 1245 and is today inhabited by the sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict. The entrance gate of the Beguinage will be irrevocably closed at 6.30 pm.

Beguinage Church dedicated to Saint Elisabeth of Hungary and located in the eastern part of the Beguinage. Pseudo - basilical church with Gothic and Baroque style features. The first Gothic church dates back to the middle of the 13th century.

The 'Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde' with white-painted facades and tranquil monastery garden was founded in 1245. Beguines used to live in this piece of world heritage, emancipated women who, although laymen, nevertheless led a pious and celibate life. Today the Beguinage is inhabited by sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict and single women from Bruges.
