              If you hike up the Schafberg you should definitely choose this route. It's so worth it!!

              I would personally only choose it for the outward journey.

              If the weather is good you should be on the trail by 10 a.m. at the latest, because the sun is merciless there. Also make sure you pack enough to drink and energy bars.

                  The Purtschellersteig is currently accessible for experienced hikers and is well secured with steel cables at all necessary points. On the approach, there are a few fallen trees in the forest that must be climbed over. One is a bit tricky, but no problem for an experienced hiker. The trail is very beautiful and highly recommended; there are steps carved into the rock on the steep section to make it easier. A via ferrata set is not required, but a head for heights and surefootedness are. If you have the choice, I would prefer to take the route uphill.
