            Lampertswalde and the church were first mentioned in a document from Pope Innocence III around 1206. The middle bell was cast in 1462 and still rings today. .

            In 1883 the church was given the name “Martinskirche” because Martin Luther is said to have preached here around 1530. In 1945 the roof, roof structure and north wall were badly damaged by shelling. In 1956, two new bells were purchased to replace the ones that were melted down during the war. Since then, three bells have rung again.
