The domain is best known for its open-air museum, the Bokrijk open-air museum was officially opened on 12 April 1958. About one hundred and forty buildings form the core of the heritage collection. In addition to these buildings, the collection also consists of tools and everyday utensils. Although the oldest building dates from 1507, the collection consists mainly of structures from the late 17th to the end of the 19th century. The emphasis is in particular on agricultural courts and barns. In addition, important buildings for village life (blacksmith, school, church, inn and craft buildings) are also included in the collection every day. A street with town houses has also been realized.
