Historic Venetian stone located between Cadolten and Pian dell'Erba, the border of the Mezzomiglio di Fregona. It is part of the "confinements" implemented starting from 1550, after the Cansiglio forest was banned and reserved for the exclusive use of the Venetian Arsenal. The stones marked the boundaries of the protected areas in which it was not possible to graze, build or cut trees, except those chosen each year for the needs of the fleet.
The date 1660 and the initials "MZ" are engraved on the large boulder, indicating the year of the first installation and the initials of Marino Zorzi, Podestà of Belluno from 1659 to 1661. Then follow several other inscriptions imprinted in the following years to reaffirm the confinement.
NOTE: it is well signposted on the ATC - Antico Troi dei Cimbri signs, an itinerary created by the Cimbri Cultural Association of Cansiglio (with the contribution of Veneto Agricoltura) which retraces the route that was used by these people (starting from the beginning of the 19th century) to reach the surrounding foothill towns.
