The so-called “Kaiserpalais”, the spa house at the highest point in the park, was opened in 1908. The Kurhaus, built as a neo-baroque pleasure palace, originally served as a conversation and entertainment building. In addition to the reading room, lounges, a restaurant and billiards room, the building contained a magnificent concert hall, which today serves as a stage for the GOP variety show. The “Imperial Palace” underwent several structural changes and redesigns in its history. The side wings, two baroque pavilions, were so badly damaged during the British occupation that they were demolished in 1954. At the beginning of the 1980s, a modern casino moved into the left wing of the main building, to which parts of the neo-baroque decor fell victim. Since the turn of the millennium, the GOP variety show has enchanted visitors to the “Kaiserpalais” with breathtaking acrobatics, fantastic shows and the best entertainment. The Kurhaus offers art and culture lovers the finest historic architecture, high-quality stained glass windows, neo-baroque wall paintings and the spirit of the Wilhelmine era.

The fountains on the Kurhaus terraces can be admired for 20 minutes every hour on the hour from 12 noon to 12:20 a.m. The color game is active from 9 p.m. Depending on the weather and weather conditions, the fountains are in winter break from November to March.
