Great hut in a best location on Lake Rappensee. The hut is in very good condition, the food is tasty and there is even a shower. Cell phones can be charged for free and reception is not far from the hut. The hut team is great and our overnight stay was perfect :)

The Rappenseehütte is at 2091m altitude.
The first hut was built here as early as 1885 and was gradually expanded. Today, the Rappenseehütte is one of the largest huts in the German Alpine Club.
The views of the Hohes Licht (2651 m) and the Bieberkopf (2599 m) are magnificent and a detour to the Kleiner and Großer Rappensee is definitely worth it.

With 304 beds, the Rappenseehütte is the largest of all the German Alpine Association's mountain huts. It can get crowded up here, especially on summer weekends. But that's no wonder, because the hut is located in a dreamlike landscape and some of the most beautiful Allgäu peaks are within easy reach. A special highlight is of course the Heilbronner Weg, the high alpine crossing to the neighboring Kemptner Hütte.

If you want to stay overnight at the Rappenseehütte, it's best to reserve a place to sleep in advance. More information and reservations at rappenseehuette.de

The view 🔭 👀 of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking 😍. We had a room for 4 with enough space for backpacks and personal items. The food is delicious and the portions are nice and big 😋. We found the showers in the building next door to be a real luxury. For 4 euros you can wash away the dirt and the exertions of the day with warm water for 3 minutes - simply wonderful 😊. The washrooms offer sufficient washing facilities with cold water. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are also two house donkeys that like to be petted and a free-roaming rabbit 🐇. For us, a definite 👍🏼

The Rappenseehütte is a good starting point for many tours - just the Heilbronner way. The landlords make for a perfect stay.

The food is great, the cake is made by the chef himself, everything is great.
Drinking water can be refilled cheaply at the counter.
