The pride with which a windmill rules over the landscape is characteristic of its glorious past. As early as 1428 a wooden post mill towered over this landscape. It is in a document from the abbey of Ninove - the owner at the time - that we find the first mention of this mill. In this the miller was admonished to pay his taxes. All this time a mill stood uninterrupted on this spot. In 1975 the last mill collapsed due to wood rot.

In 2004, under the impulse of the alderman of culture Luc hooren, also a miller, the file for the restoration of this mill was started. Less than six years later in 2009, this completely rebuilt old-model mill was inaugurated with great pomp and a beautiful mill festival.

The Buysesmolen is a post mill in the Belgian Sint-Antelinks (Herzele). It is a corn mill that stands on a site where a windmill has stood since the 13th century. The mill was owned by the Norbertine Abbey in Ninove for a long time. During the French occupation it passed into private hands and in 1839 it came into the possession of the Buyse family, who sold the Buysesmolen to the Belgian state in 1975. The mill was already protected as a monument in 1944 and since the 1960s there were plans to restore the now badly dilapidated post mill. In the summer of 1976 the Buysesmolen fell over. The mill parts were stored and the post remained standing. It was not until 2003 that a lease agreement was concluded between the owner, the Flemish Region, and the municipality. In 2007-2008 the Buysesmolen was restored and on 15 August 2009 the mill was festively put into operation.

The Buysesmolen has two pairs of millstones. In the past there was a third, smaller pair in the "belly". The catch is a wooden band catch.

The municipality of Herzele appointed volunteer millers who regularly grind with the mill.
