    With 20,700 square meters on 10 floors, ARoS is one of the largest art museums in Northern Europe. About one million visitors annually make ARoS the most visited art museum in Scandinavia.

    The goal of ARoS is to be one of the 20 most important art museums in the world. This is to be achieved by new, non-traditional ways of working in which the museum u. a. interacts with the surrounding society.

    In addition, the museum launched the ARoS Triennial, first held in 2017, dedicated an entire floor to the ARoS Public mediation center and plans to expand the museum to provide more space for people and art.

    ARoS has four large special galleries, a Focus gallery and a floor with installation art. In each gallery ARoS shows art from the collections of the museum or from Danish and international artists such as Grayson Perry, Robert Mapplethorpe, Joana Vasconcelos, Bill Viola, Olafur Eliasson, Paul McCarthy, Shirin Neshat, Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon.

      ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is the main art museum in Aarhus and one of the largest
      in Northern Europe. From the Rainbow Walk on the museum's roof, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city.
      AROS has two Michelin stars in the Michelin Guide and is the perfect place
      for socializing. The basement houses the extensive special exhibitions as well as the "Nine Rooms" featuring international installation art.
      The large halls on the upper floors house the museum's art collections
      from the 19th century to the present day.
      On the roof terrace, 50 meters above the street, is a glass pavilion with an information center, SKY ROOM, where visitors to the ARoS Art Museum can, among other things, receive an introduction to Olafur Eliasson's artwork "Your Rainbow Panorama." Beneath the floating artwork, you'll find the wooden, ornate roof terrace, which is a perfect place to take a breather with a wonderful view, especially in sunny weather.
      On the upper floor of ARoS is the ARoS WINE & FOOD HALL restaurant, offering magnificent views of the city. On the ground floor, there is a café and a shop, both of which are accessible without a ticket.

                The ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is an art museum designed by the local architects Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen in the Danish city of Aarhus with a focus on contemporary art. The motto is "Mythologies - The Beginning and the End of Civilizations". It is one of the largest art museums in Northern Europe. Its roof installation makes it a striking eye-catcher for the city. The name is derived from Aros, the old name of the city, from which an association with the old Latin word Ars, art, is generated through capitalization.

                ARoS is the first Danish art museum to open outside of Copenhagen. It has moved within the city several times since it was founded in 1859. Admission costs 21 € for adults, children under 18 have free admission.

                        We actually only wanted to go to the roof for the rainbow tour. Unfortunately, we would have had to pay the full entrance fee for that as well. This is €22 for an adult aged 31 and over. It wasn't worth it for us because we didn't want to visit the rest of the museum. We met some tourists who had similar thoughts and therefore left. It would have been great if you could have paid a reduced amount just to get on the tour.
                        The museum is definitely super nice and an absolute recommendation, but for us only the tour was interesting.
