The squirrels eat out of their hands and prefer to eat hazelnuts. Peanuts should be avoided. Even the birds eat out (if you have enough patience) out of hand.

It is worth taking nuts, but they shouldn't be peanuts. Hazelnuts would be the better alternative. Fascinating for children and adults.
