          The Löbbecke Rock is a striking rock formation in the western part of the Teufelsmauer in the northern Harz foothills near Blankenburg in the Harz district, Saxony-Anhalt.
          A cast-iron commemorative plaque to the mayor of Blankenburg, Carl Löbbecke, has been inserted into the west side of the rock.
          It is:
          In memory of Carl Löbbecke, born June 4, 1809 in Braunschweig died June 22, 1869 in Lippspringe, Mayor of Blankenburg 1850-1859
