The Rheinpark Golzheim is a park in Dusseldorf, which was designed in 1906 as Kaiser Wilhelm Park by Walter von Engelhardt and further developed in the 1920s according to the principles of Volkspark. The park extends from the district Pempelfort far into the district Golzheim about 2.5 kilometers along the right bank of the Rhine. It is characterized by spacious lawns, by a promenade on an artistically designed bank protection wall made of natural stone and one by a larger, contiguous tree population along the Cecilienallee. The promenade offers one of the best views of the skyline of Dusseldorf, the Rhine and Rhine navigation. The lawns cover around 24 hectares and serve sunbathers, picnics and barbecues as a sunbathing area on warm days. Strollers, dog owners, cyclists, joggers and ball athletes from all over the world, however, are also found in wind and weather. Dog runs and partly children's play areas are specially fenced.
