Imposing building, beautiful to look at, in an exposed location. The island belonged to the Knights of St John, and later the church too.

The Knights Hospitaller branch probably only had a house chapel at its disposal for the first hundred years. The church, which was dedicated to John the Baptist according to the Johanniter tradition, dates back to the first half of the 14th century. A remark from 1341 suggests its existence, but it is explicitly mentioned in 1351 and 1356.

In the church you can marvel at the prince's crypt, climb the tower and enjoy the view from above. There is also a small exhibition on each floor. Shortly before the top of the tower you can pick up a book in a small “library” for €1 each. If you're lucky, you can also watch the kestrels breeding, as this is broadcast on site using a live cam.
