On the outskirts of Sorge, the association "Grenzmuseum Sorge e.V." has received a border museum with a border landscape. The aim of the association is to keep the memory of the time of the division of Germany alive and to impart knowledge about this part of the story to future generations using original objects and contemporary documents.

In the open-air border museum there are remnants of the original border facility, which the community has saved from destruction. A history trail with information boards, remnants of border fences I and II, a border pillar, an observation tower, a water barrier and an earth bunker illustrate the system of border security.

Ring of Memory ”. For this natural monument, the landscape artist Hermann Prigann created a circular wall made of layered dead wood trunks in 1993. The ring with a diameter of 70 meters lies directly on the former death strip, the former border runs right through.

Experience history and go on a journey through time. We only saw the part near the stamp box (Border Museum - Ring of Remembrance), but we will also visit the other part of the Border Museum.
It was a strange feeling to be where many people lost their lives just because they wanted freedom.
