The Stargarder Tor is the southern entrance to the city of Neubrandenburg. It was built in the middle of the 14th century and is the second oldest of the four city gates, the three-story main gate is 24 m high. The swampy terrain in front of the gate provided effective natural protection so that it did not have to be secured three times.

The richly decorated facade on the field side of the front gate is worth seeing. Nine life-size female terracotta figures in the blind niches of the city-side gable, the so-called "adorantesses", are puzzling. Its meaning is still unclear today and the gates are opened to the imagination of the beholder.

The Lohmühle is still preserved from two upstream mills; it now houses a restaurant.
