Unity Square (Náměstí Svorností) is the centre of the old town with the town hall from the 16th century and the Plague Column from 1716. Several buildings are decorated with stucco and paintings. The square layout of the square, the arrangement of the houses on its sides and the exits of the streets correspond essentially to the state from the time of the city's founding in the Middle Ages.

Wonderful place:
Its evenly square floor plan was probably laid out as early as the 13th century. At the beginning, the square was lined with a number of wooden buildings. Stone houses with arcades were not built until 100 years later. On the market square there is a fountain with a baroque plague column from the years 1712–1716. It was built by Princess Marie Ernestine von Schwarzenberg as an expression of thanks (albeit a little belatedly) for having survived the plague epidemic that had ravaged the city in the years 1680–1682. However, the market square is clearly dominated by the town hall. It once consisted of two older houses, the front of which was optically combined into a whole in 1597. Four coats of arms adorn the town hall: the coat of arms of the Bohemian Kingdom, the city of Český Krumlov and the coats of arms of those of Eggenberg and von Schwarzenberg.
