A few kilometers from Carbonia, on the plateau overlooking the Cixerri Valley, the Monte Sirai Archaeological Park recounts over two thousand years of history. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC and expanded by the Carthaginians, it preserves the remains of dwellings, fortifications, necropolises, and the famous tophet, the cemetery sanctuary dedicated to children.

Not very popular, oddly enough. But it is definitely worth a visit. The climb from Highway 126 is not very long, but it can be quite challenging in the sun and with the weight of luggage
