he "magical place" with a futuristic viewing platform in the Röttinger vineyards has long been history, long live the snack bar. This is how the viewpoint that the Röttingen farmer and winemaker Anton Engelhardt created at his own expense in the Petzerroth corridor could be described.

The rest area offers a view of the 35-hectare Feuerstein vineyard opposite the Taubertal, the old town of Röttingen with its historic city wall and Brattenstein Castle as far as the plateau with the Strüth district and the Schönstheimer Wald. As Anton Engelhardt knows, you can also wonderfully watch the sunset over the valley from there.

Since the vantage point is only about thirty minutes' walk from the car park on the Röttinger Tauberufer, Engelhardt hopes that it will become a popular destination not only for Röttinger, but also for tourists and hikers. This is entirely to the taste of Mayor Hermann Gabel, who wants to increase tourism in the state-approved resort.

In order to reach the destination on the Eulenberg, there are two ways to choose from, a slightly more demanding and a well-developed one, partly through the forest, to the lookout point. The two trails are signposted as the "Panorama Hiking Trail" and the "Baden-Württemberg Wine Trail" and lead via Klingen to Creglingen. The Röttinger Modellsportclub also has its airport a stone's throw away.
