At the beginning of the mining activity, copper ores that chewed out over days were probably mined in the opencast mine. The veins proven by excavations then led to the creation of two pits, which were named "Southern Pit" and "Northern Pit". It was worked in four quarries. In the later period the pits were connected to each other and in the last period of operation, mining was also carried out here. Today the white mine is one of the visitor mines in Imsbach. The heaps mostly fell victim to leaching or were later used to build roads.

The "White Pit" is one of the oldest pits in the area. Mainly copper ores and in the 18th century mainly cobalt were extracted here. However, mining could have been practiced as early as Roman times. In the 18th century there was a "silver shaft" and in 1921 a mining field was awarded on silver due to silver finds in the "Elisabethenstollen". However, the deposit was not worth mining. In the last operating periods, lye ore was recovered here - mainly in open-cast mining. However, the transport to the leaching facility was more difficult because there was no mine railway.
