          "The Jaberg in the Hildener Heide is at 106.6 meters the highest elevation in the former district of Düsseldorf-Mettmann. On the mountain is the 13.2 meter high Jabergturm. This observation tower was built in 1931 by the Franz Staat company. Since 2018 Unfortunately, the tower is closed. Before that, you could climb up on Sundays and enjoy the distant view.
          There are a number of legends and myths about this mountain:
          "On the Jaberg (Joberg, interpreted by the people as God's mountain) the pagans offered their gods sacrifices and other worship and buried their commanders. It's haunted now. On a certain night (which I have not been able to ascertain) a witches' sabbath is held on the mountain. Then the witches approach from all sides, high through the air on broomsticks, forks and other implements. At this time it is not advisable to line up there..." (Schell 1978, p. 131)
          A witch is said to have been burned here in the 18th century. The mountain is also called Heidenkönigsberg, because here under this mountain (in some writings also next to the mountain) Attila, the Hun king, is said to be buried with golden armor in a golden grave.
